The coronavirus pandemic is obviously a global issue and many countries in the world have taken steps to curb the menace including the cancellation of big world entertainment and sport events.

However, some people still do not consider the virus a serious threat and they continue to live their daily lives without stopping activities that would promote social distancing.

Former Super Eagles captain, John Mikel Obi, decided to terminate his contract with Trabzonspor after the team went on to play a league match despite the current fear of the coronavirus, cited on Twitter.

Most of Europe’s top leagues had postponed matches until April while some countries cancelled games indefinitely. But matches were played across various centres in the Turkish Super Lig and Mikel reportedly told his coach he does not want to feature in their weekend home game against Istanbul Basaksehir.
