[BREAKING] Saraki: Kwara government begins demolition of ‘Ile Arugbo’

Days after ‘Ile Arugbo’, a property belonging to Olusola, the late father of former Senate president, Bukola Saraki, was taken over, the Kwara state government on Thursday, January 2, began demolition of the structures in the place.

The home located in Ilorin, capital of Kwara, was taken over by the government with security personnel deployed to the property moments before the demolition. The Cable reports that the demolition occurred early Thursday, January 2.

Just before the action, security operatives were said to have dispersed protesters who stood against its take-over.

This was disclosed in a press release by the chief press secretary to Kwara governor, Rafiu Ajakaiye on Friday, December 27, According to him, a new secretariat would be built on the land.
In reaction on Saturday, December 28, Saraki said the development showed Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq as a person who does not respect history and only out to get the Sarikis down instead of fighting the interest of the state.
